About the 5k and kids races

Join Main Street Highland Park for a day of fun starting with the 6th annual Run in the Park 5k. The course, closed to traffic during the race, starts on Raritan Avenue and heads downhill towards New Brunswick for a fast first mile. The race then winds it’s way through the historic streets of Highland Park before finishing on the high school track.

After the run

Following the 5k, refreshments will be available in the finish area. At 10am there will be kids races on the high school track. Kids race entrants will also receive a t-shirt, a comic, and refreshments. The “superhero” kids races (come dressed as a superhero) are presented by Yellow Brick Road Preschool and Infant/Toddler Center

Following the kids races, awards will be presented to:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall Male and Female
  • Age Groups 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female (0 – 10, 11 – 13, 14 – 19, 20 -29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 -59, 60 – 69, 70 – 70, 80+)

Race Proceeds to benefit the Borough of Highland Park Police, Fire, First Aid, Library, Main Street, and Recreation.

Please consider bringing a non-perishable food donation for the Highland Park Food Pantry on the race day.

Don’t forget to visit the Street Fair along Raritan Avenue from 11am.
